Poorest Tanzanians will have to spend more money to buy food following climate change which will affect agricultural production in most area.
An article published by Reuters recently showed the effects of climate change.
' ....the impacts of climate change on Agriculture will hit the poorest Tanzanians first and hardest...."part of the article said.
Agriculture is the backbone of the national economy and it is estimated that 80% are totally engaged and employed in the agricultural sector.
Following to climate change therefore it can be interpreted that the huge number totally depended on Agriculture for livehood will be affected and become jobless.
Basing on what was published by the Reuters,the rainfall will not be suitable for maize,coffee production and others.Tanzania,as a nation will be experiencing food shortages and automatically fail to sell abroad to get foreign exchange needed for the provision of social services.
There are reports from Pastoralists in Mwanza,Shinyanga,Arusha,Dodoma and other areas that their livestock are dying because of the lack of water.Finding the option to solve the problem,pastoralists have been shifting from one region to another just to see whether they can serve their cows,goats and sheeps.
On another side of the coin,there is a public outcry that due to this problem,knowing that livestocks are the source of income,their families mostly who are in schoools and even those in need of medical treatment are likely to suffer as there will be no money to pay for such services.
On March 8,every year is a Women Day to cerebrate,encourage and congratulate the role of women in the society.However,it becomes to be a big burden to them as far as the climate change is concerned because women are mostly closed to their families if compared with men.When a child is sick the first parent to nurse him or her,is her mother.
